  19. db2bak.pl - Directory Server perl script for creating a backup
  20. .SH SYNOPSIS
  21. db2bak.pl [\-Z serverID] [\-D rootdn] { \-w password | \-w \- | \-j filename } [\-t dbtype] [\-a backupdir] [\-A backupdir] [\-P protocol] [\-v] [\-h]
  22. .SH DESCRIPTION
  23. Creates a backup of the Directory Server database. The
  24. Directory Server must be started prior to running this script.
  25. .SH OPTIONS
  26. A summary of options is included below:

  29. The server ID of the Directory Server instance. If there is only
  30. one instance on the system, this option can be skipped.

  33. The Directory Manager DN, or root DN. If not specified, the script will
  34. search the server instance configuration for the value.

  37. The rootdn password.

  41. Prompt for the rootdn password.

  47. The backend database type (default: ldbm database).

  50. The directory where the backup should be stored.

  53. This is similar to \fB-a\fR, except that a sub-directory of \fIbackupdir\fR will be created for the backup, and the name of the sub-directory will be a timestamp of the form \fIserver-instance-date_time\fR.

  56. The connection protocol to connect to the Directory Server. Protocols are STARTTLS, LDAPS, LDAPI, and LDAP.
  57. If this option is skipped, the most secure protocol that is available is used. For LDAPI, AUTOBIND is also

  70. Note: LDAPI must be enabled to use this protocol. If LDAPI is not available it will default to next strongest/available protocol automatically.

  72. Exit status is zero if no errors occur. Errors result in a
  73. non-zero exit status and a diagnostic message being written
  74. to standard error.
